Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Facility Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Ladywood Leisure Centre. As the Facility Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the centre runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely, while delivering excellent customer service. You will lead a team of staff, manage budgets, and implement strategies to enhance the overall service provided to our members and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the leisure centre, including health and safety protocols, staff management, and customer service.
- Manage facility maintenance, ensuring all equipment and spaces are well-maintained and compliant with regulations.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase usage and attract new members.
- Budget management and financial reporting to ensure profitability and efficiency.
- Lead and motivate a team, providing guidance, support, and training where needed.
- Ensure the highest standards of customer service are maintained, handling any complaints or issues promptly.
- Foster strong relationships with local organisations and businesses to promote the centre’s services.

Person Specification:

- Financial management experience, with the ability to work to a budget.
- A proactive, organised approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Development Manager to lead the growth and expansion of Ladywood Leisure Centre. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and implementing new initiatives, securing funding opportunities, and developing partnerships to ensure the long-term success of the centre. You will work closely with local stakeholders, government bodies, and community groups to enhance the range of services offered and increase the centre’s visibility and impact within Penicuik.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the centre’s growth and development, identifying opportunities for new services, programmes, and partnerships.
- Lead fundraising initiatives, including grant applications and sponsorships, to support new projects and facility upgrades.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, community organisations, schools, and businesses.
- Oversee the planning and execution of new development projects, from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with the centre’s goals and objectives.
- Monitor industry trends and community needs to identify areas for innovation and expansion.
- Work closely with the Facility Manager and other senior staff to ensure all development initiatives complement the operational and community focus of the leisure centre.
- Track and report on the success of development programmes, providing regular updates to stakeholders.

- Knowledge of leisure sector trends and challenges is desirable.
